Key Responsibilities:
- Recruitment and consenting of potential study participants;
- HIV counseling and testing of potential study participants;
- Taking vital signs during scheduled study visits, unscheduled visits and offer nursing; care in the clinic and ward to hospitalized participants;
- Dispensing both study and non-study medication to study participants (DOTS);
- Accurately and completely fill out all necessary study forms;
- Conduct post dose observation of dosed study participants;
- Keep records and check source documents for completeness and accuracy each day;
- Perform real time quality control checks of documents prior to filing;
- Report problems encountered at work to the study coordinator;
- Able to compile and submit progress reports in a timely manner.
Vacancy Requirements:
- Diploma in Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing, Nursing, Kenya Registered Midwifery, Nursing/Midwifery, Nursing/Mental Health and Psychiatry or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; Mandatory
- Registration Certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya; Mandatory
- Valid Practising Licensing from Nursing Council of Kenya; Mandatory
- Proficiency in computer application skills from a recognized institution; Mandatory
- Minimum work experience of 3 years of direct patient contact in a hospital setting Mandatory
- Must be willing to reside in the Study sites (Siaya and Homa Bay counties). Mandatory
- Training in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Human Subject Protection (HSP) is an added advantage; Added Advantage
- Clinical experience in the immunization clinic and/or paediatric inpatient department is an added advantage; Added Advantage
- Fluency in English and Kiswahili, knowledge of Dholuo is an added advantage Added Advantage
