Brief Description
To conduct an in-depth market research and competition analysis of entry into service and disposal of aircraft into or out of Kenya Airways fleet. This will includecross-functional analysis of requisite infrastructure, business processes and training needs to ensure the organization is ready and prepared for the entry into service of KQ aircraft. The incumbent will also conduct market analysis and industry benchmark to determine the best disposal strategy for KQ aircraft by lease return, sale or conversion to freighter as appropriate.
Detailed Description
- Support the section manager with Technical and financial analysis of identified aircraft types for acquisition business case.
- Liaise with fleet stakeholders and partners (such as respective engine manufacturer, aircraft lessor´s and suppliers).
- Work closely with a cross-functional team of full time as well as part time project/task managers seconded from other KQ sections.
- Provide advice and guidance to the respective project/task managers on project benefits.
- The programme includes: Collection of Identified aircraft specifications and configuration data,
- Analysis of the Initial Provisioning and storage of aircraft spares, tools and equipment required for operations of the identified aircraft with Technical and Ground Services departments,
- Recommendation on the required training for pilots, engineers and cabin crew,
Evaluation, review and improving existing inspection and acceptance procedures of each aircraft at the manufacturer’s facility or at designated maintenance organization until when aircraft enters into service, - Examining compliance of the new aircraft to Kenya Civil Aviation Regulations (KCARS).
- Analyze project changes, risks and issues; resolve or recommend appropriate action to the respective Fleet Managers.
- Ensure accurate project reports on Projects implemented are kept according to Fleet development requirements
- Conduct market analysis and industry benchmark for other long-term engineering projects like cabin refurbishments and densification.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical or business-related field from a recognized university.
- Participation and successful completion of the Kenya Airways Graduate Engineering Trainee program will be an added advantage
- Project Management, data analysis or equivalent qualification will be an added advantage.
- Experience – 2 years in the aviation field or gained through the KQ graduate trainee program.
- Preferably Knowledge of Kenya Airways Organizational Functions (added advantage)
- Demonstrable competency and experience in the management of projects and project communication, analytical and critical thinking
