Job Summary:

The Senior Project Lead will oversee and manage healthcare projects specifically related to the Cardiothoracic Centre (CTC) at Tenwek Hospital. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to successfully deliver projects on time and within budget while ensuring alignment with Tenwek’s Christian values and mission.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of CTC-related projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, and including project management documentation specific to the CTC.
  • Conducting thorough analyses of innovative practices.
  • Engaging various stakeholders and facilitating communication.
  • Preparing reports and presentations based on research findings.
  • Coordinate internal resources and third-party vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation while tracking project progress.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Manage the relationship with clients all stakeholders, providing regular project status updates.
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Ensure that project goals are met while adhering to Tenwek’ s Christian values.
    Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define project requirements and expectations.
  • Facilitate regular communication and updates to stakeholders on project progress and challenges.

Team Leadership:

  • Supervise and mentor project team members involved in CTC initiatives, fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.

Risk Management:

  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies relevant to CTC projects.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and best practices in healthcare project management.

Quality Assurance:

  • Implement best practices for project management and continuous improvement initiatives specifically for the CTC.
  • Monitor project outcomes to ensure they align with organizational goals and deliver value to patients and the community.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in healthcare management, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

Certifications:

PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or PRINCE2 certification is mandatory, or actively working towards one of these certifications.

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of project management, with specific experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
Proven track record of leading complex projects and managing cross-functional teams.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools.
