Role Purpose:
Under the general direction and guidance of the Manager Line Maintenance, the Shift Leader leads and certifies all aircraft and engine maintenance and repair work within his shift and scope of approval in accordance with KCAA and company regulations at optimized costs while maintaining the highest safety standards to uphold schedule integrity.
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
- Ensure availability of aircraft, equipment, spares, and manpower for all scheduled maintenance requirements and effectively return AOG aircraft to service considering airworthiness requirements.
- Manage both scheduled and unscheduled line maintenance for Jambojet and customer fleet, including coordination and planning within the shift.
- Guide and train team members on proper maintenance practices and certify duplicate inspections on safety-critical systems to ensure integrity.
- Liaise with Technical Services and communicate technical issues, ensuring all relevant parties are aware of the aircraft’s serviceability status.
- Review line check procedures and processes for optimal control and efficiency of line maintenance operations.
- Monitor the use and maintenance of aircraft support equipment and components.
- Ensure accurate and complete shift handover documentation.
- Report incidents/accidents as per company procedures and supervise shift engineers and technicians, fostering competency and efficiency.
- Carry out Quality Receiving Inspection of aircraft Parts/Components and adhere to company safety, health, environmental policies, and engineering security document procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Diploma/Degree in relevant engineering discipline or completion of a 3-year Apprenticeship program within an approved MRO.
- Experience: At least 7 years in aircraft maintenance, with a minimum of 3 years as a certifying line maintenance engineer.
- Certifications: Full LWTR A&P or Avionics or B1 & B2 with a KCAA endorsement, type rating on Jambojet fleet, type C rating is an added advantage.
